I Give Up!!

Welcome to the Bush White House, where catering to the losing party is the name of the game. Now before I get the "calm down, trust President Bush" or better yet, the "don't react so quickly" response, let me first say that life, and especially politics, is ALL about reaction. It is what makes us function as humans and exist in society. So don't give me the "anti-reaction" speech. Don't give me the "trust President Bush" speech, either. I do trust President Bush. That is why I am hurt today, because I simply don't understand the logic in nominating Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court. Why? That, of course, is always the question. My initial reaction is that this choice was made of absolute fright and weakness. Why else would President Bush bypass a dozen other qualified, conservative judges? However, my thoughtful reaction is that I hope President Bush knows something about Miers that I don't. Whatever the case, I just hope this pick is worth it. If not, then President Bush has completely demoralized his base (the ones that voted for him, I might add) for NOTHING! As for me, I'll continue to dream about Janice Rogers Brown.
